I just got a chance to watch the first of the Peter Capaldi series of Doctor Who, and I have to say, I definitely enjoyed it. I think this is going to be a good Doctor. Unlike a lot of people I know, I was not a huge fan of Matt Smith. He had some good moments, but I mostly watched his run for the Ponds, and River Song. (No spoilers!) This new Doctor looks to be snarky and mad, and I've kind of missed that. My first Doctor was Sylvester McCoy, who was snarky, mad, and Scottish, so this kind of feels like going home.

I've been in Europe for the last two weeks. The excuse was London Worldcon (LonCon). But I did a bunch of touristy things too. Because London.
